Wellness

At the Student Recreation Center, we view wellness as the overall umbrella that comprises all the elements of living well, including living healthier, growing in appreciation for self, others and the environment. Each of us possess great resources of mind and body that, when used to their fullest potential help us take charge of our lives. Living well means that we are able to read internal and external signals that our bodies give us to maintain balance, health, and vitality in life.

Wellness is a way chosen to achieve the highest potential for living life to its fullest.

Wellness is not an ultimate state achieved once and for all. It is a process, and like any other process, will have its ups and downs. There will be times that great strides will be made, and times when rest and recuperation is the right thing to do.

At the Student Recreation Center, we offer a variety of programs that contribute to greater wellbeing. Our individual and group exercise programs are designed for beginning to advanced students and help achieve a physical level of well-being. Our yoga and pilates programs teach self awareness and listening, skills that are vital to the well-being of mind, body, and spirit. Our Ask the Expert sessions provide an opportunity for members to meet individually with an expert in the fields of nutrition, fitness, stress management, and general health.

As with any individual wellness program, the wellness program at the Student Recreation Center is constantly evolving, changing and growing. Check our website periodically for updates on our latest wellness programs.
